Home Performance with ENERGY STAR
Program Financing

The Idaho Energy Division offers a five-year loan at 4 percent interest for the Home Performance with ENERGY STAR program.

  • Borrow up to $15,000
  • 4% annual interest
  • 5 year repayment term

Financing can be used for:

  • Home Performance diagnostic testing
  • Insulation upgrades
  • Air duct sealing
  • High efficiency furnaces
  • High efficiency heat pumps
  • High efficiency air conditioning
  • Low-E windows that meet specifications
  • Other items will be considered on a case-by-case basis

Under the loan program, all recommended insulation upgrades, air duct sealing and thermal envelope sealing must be included in the scope of work before any other improvements will be considered for funding.

When all work approved under the project is completed and all tests and inspections are finalized, your contractor will contact the Idaho Energy Division and submit the post-test results for your home.

If you have been approved for a loan through the Idaho Energy Division, the post-test results and final documentation must be on file with the Idaho Energy Division before the funds can be released for payment to the contractors.

Financing is contingent upon approval of credit. Before you start any work, make sure your financing is secure. If the loan is not approved, homeowners are responsible for payment of the Home Performance diagnostic testing and inspection services.

You can request an application by calling the Idaho Energy Hotline at 1-800-334-SAVE or by downloading one from the Energy Division’s website at www.energy.idaho.gov.
